IEEE-488 on Apple IIgs

Anyone ever use a HP-IB (similar to GP-IB and IEEE-488 ) disk drive and/or hard drive on an Apple II or IIgs? I have an HP-IB hard drive/floppy combo and was wondering if it is possible to use an IEEE-488 card to run it.

I see a few of these cards on eBay and am interested in getting a hard drive running on my IIgs. I suspect I would have to boot from floppy and then run from the drive.

I assume this is an HP drive, a 9153 or 9135 of some sort. I have never heard of them being used on an apple. However, I do have an HP HPIB ISA card (for a PC) and have it installed in an old P5200 machine running dos and an HP utility called lifutil. This lifutil allows you to access the HPIB LIF floppy drive (HP's proprietary format) and HPIB Amigo, CS/80, and SS/80 hard disks. As such, it works with 9135s.

You know though, 9135s were intended to be used on HP Series 80 and HP9000 machines.

This seems like a good time to mention that I have one National Instruments nubus GPIB card. I have no use for it and would gladly trade it for a National Instruments GPIB11V-2 (later qbus dec pdp-11 gpib card) or an NI MCA GPIB card.

Its a 9133 actually. At one point I had a GP-IB card for PC but have yet to figure out what I've done with it. Don't want to deviate from the topic at hand to much though.

I've been lusting after an IEEE-488 card for Apple II-series machines that's been on eBay for ages. With it I hope to connect my Apple IIgs to my PET 4032 and IEEE-488 floppy drive. I also would be interested in hearing from anyone who has done such a thing.
