Does anybody happen to have the CPU instruction set details for a Nixdorf 1559 CPU.

I could kick myself as I had all this documentation 25 years ago, and binned it (who the heck would ever want this old junk)... looks like I do :(

I'm in the middle of building a system that has a changable CPU and I want to look at implementing this old Nixdorf instruction set.

Any help, links to sites etc would be great.

many thanks.

Hello Joe,
are you still interested in this topic?
From 1982 until 1993 I took part in the development of the NIROS ( Nixdorf interactive realtime operating system ) operating system. NIROS was derived from the IRIS-system. It's base was a modified NOVA code. ( modified I/O-instructions using index-registers and displacement, additional instruction patterns for byte-loading/storing using "useless" arithmetic pattern : no load skip never, no load skip always )
NIROS was the base of the Nixdorf 8870.
The 1559 was the first cpu, which could be run in a multiprocessor environment.
Unfortunately I can't support you with an manuals ...

... but elephants never forget
