As title suggests looking for an 8 BIT MFM controller for my st-225 and IBM floppy controller, or an 8 bit controller that does both works too. Bonus points if it has an external 37 pin connector. Ebay prices are insane lately. not paying 70 dollars for an IBM XT floppy controller.

Bumping, and wanted to add meant 70 for ibm controller and mfm controller... Rather have 1 card then 2. Would really love the external 37 pin connector so I can use my external 720kb drive. Have most the machine rebuilt but stuck with storage. Wanted to make it period correct, I have an XT IDE and Gotek in my Compaq Portable. Would perfer it be Western Digital based, but doesnt have to be. Anyone have a spare MFM and Floppy drive controller?

I'm not aware of that many 8-bit cards that were both MFM and Floppy controller. There are plenty of 16-bit cards that fit that description. I went through a few old reference books, and the only 8-bit cards that I could find were:

The Everex EV-390 (similar to the one I shared above). This one supports up to 4 floppy drives and also has an external floppy connector.
RMT Systems RMT2001-F2H2 (there is one on eBay right now)
Xebec S1412

I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones I could see. I could find no reference to a Western Digital 8-bit card with both MFM controller and Floppy on the same card.

Now you see the problem, not alot out there but I am not versed well on some the clone stuff...
