What type of old computers are you interested in?
 
Sure was in my case. I was playing around with irrational number bases (binary, octal, decimal are all number bases based on whole numbers). Irrational numbers are numbers that can not be represented as a ratio of 2 whole numbers. ".33333..." is NOT an irrational because you can express it as 1 / 3. Some famous irrationals are Pi, e, "the golden ration".
