Hi everyone, I am trying to figure out why this Kaypro 10 doesn't boot from the hard drive. The hard drive sounds OK, as far as I can hear. The computer doesn't seem to recognize it at all though, all it does is spin the floppy disk drive.
Upon opening the machine, I noticed there is an add-on card connected to a socket that normally holds an I/O or serial communications chip, if I understand the board correctly. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I also noticed that the hard disk ready LED is connected to that add-on board. I was thinking that this may have something to do with it bypassing the hard drive entirely.
All the connections to the drive seem to be correct. I'll attach photos so you can see what's going on. I am hoping that someone can help me solve this.
Thank you
