Keyboards really are terrible today, I think.

FWIW, it also looks like some of the Razor keyboards have that “hot swappable keyswitches” feature I mentioned. Dunno if that’s in play here, but the one keyboard I have that gives me any trouble has that feature and I strongly suspect its intermittent keybounce problems could be bad connections between the switches and the sockets.

I wouldn’t actually buy one of the hotswap keyboards again unless I intended to use it for parts. The economics kind of add up.

In the 90's I fell in love with the Microsoft Natural split keyboards. I had a few variations over the years but I think a few years ago they stopped making them, at least with full-travel keys. So I went on the hunt for a new split design, and was hoping to find one with some decent key switches. I settled on this one and absolutely love it. It's a bit pricey, but they use real Cherry MX switches and it ticked all my boxes. I've been using mine for the past 3+ years and it has held up well. Now that I went back to their website, it looks like they changed to a different switch brand (looks like a Cherry MX clone). They also have a more compact design. Highly recommend if you're a fan of the split keyboard designs.
