Some years ago I responded to a craiglist listing for a huge IMAC G3 Bondi Blue system. All complete in box with tons of accessories. When I got there it was a Lawyers office and everything was still in the box and complete and nothing really looked used at all.

This Que Drive was part of it.

Im in the deep throws of house keeping and needing to clear some things out.. I have never used this, I really never got into firewire. As you can see from the photos this thing is spotless. Its all there including software see photos, this thing looks brand new.

Here are photos. Please make me an offer plus shipping as I would hate to toss this in the bin.

No takers huh? Guess this is more a macintosh specific thing? I never got into firewire but I figure it would be of use to someone, specifically with an original Imac.
 
They look really nice with the g4 towers too. I’ve got a cd burner in a usb case by Que.

Someone needs to grab this. I’ve already got a generic firewire burner and a que cd burner. If nothing else, the padded case would make a nice toiletry bag!
 
Do you have the power supply and FireWire cable to connect to the Mac?

If I was into Firewire and specifically MAC's I would think this would be great for burning DVDs/CDs, loading up systems from optical disks, and burning video to DVD. The thing looks unused.. Its a shame. I really hate to toss it but if no takers come thats whats gonna happen.

Intel had about a 10 year run of including Firewire (1394) in chipsets plus some USB expansion cards also included Firewire. With a Pentium III or Celeron Pentium 4, Firewire's limited CPU usage made it very attractive. I purchased a bunch of external USB/Firewire enclosures because they were considerably cheaper than the equivalent USB only enclosures. That in turn gave me a chance to test them with a number of systems. I can't be sure that this drive works the same as the one I have but I found it to be better than most USB external DVD writers with the less capable CPUs mentioned.
 
Thats interesting. Yeah I couldnt tell you the build quality as I never took it apart. But that seems like a good idea. Take out the optical drive and add a hard drive or ssd.
