Another of my projects, when time permits, is working on, and hoping to rescue a Lear Seigler ADM 31 terminal,(I really like the look and design of these.)which although complete, was non working. Finding info on this particular model, is not easy, at present there is a large resistor mounted on the psu board, ( R5 actually ) which has been badly overheating and its colour code is not readable. has anyone schematics for this terminal, or can help me identify this resistor, perhaps looking at another psu. in another ADM 31. and I still have to find out why it has been overheating.

thanks ...... harry

If you're lucky, the ADM-31 logic board is similar enough to the popular ADM-3a whose maintenance manual can be found here:

Thanks for reply, I was hoping to be lucky, I had looked at the ADM3A configuration some time ago, unfortunately the ADM 31 is quite different, compared to the ADM 3A, the mains psu on the 31 is a separate unit, mounted under the m/b. whereas it seems the 3A has only a mains tranformer under the m/b, with ac supplies to the m/b and nessesary dc voltages dealt with on the m/b. The actual m/b and setting switches are also very different. I guess I will have to do some more homework........ thanks harry

Then if someone has a paper manual for the ADM-31, maybe they'd be nice enough to scan it and send it to Bitsavers.

Sorry it didn't work out for you.
