Linksys WPC11 and Compaq LTE 5300 for WiFi

Hello!

I am trying to connect to Wi-Fi on my Win98 SE laptop Compaq LTE 5300 and I got Linksys WPC11 ver 4 PCMCIA card.
Unfortunately, even power led is not on when I insert it into the slot and Win98 says slot is free.
I have another PCMCIA card adapter for CF which works good.
I saw the video on youtube where someone easily setup it on old laptop with Win95, so I hoped it would work.

I tried Linksys pcm200 LAN card as well with the same result. Power LED is off and slot is shown as empty.

What could be the reason?
Is it too new to be supported by my laptop which was made in 1997?

I think I found an answer!
It is WPC11 v4 is 32 bit card but my laptop supports only 16 bit cards.

Ill look thru my stash of pcmcia cards, sure I still have a few that would work.

I got v3 card and it is recognized now but it can't see any WiFi network even if I create a B one.
