They had a dumb terminal go out at work today, and it seems the power connector has broken off from whatever connection it has on the inside, and I inherited it. I believe I can fix it. When I do I was planning on hooking it up to one of the linux boxes (probly the laptop the tower is still buggy) and seeing what kind of fun I can have with it. It's only a terminal but it's soemthing! Not a thin client, but a real text only terminal. I had one once, not classic but still neat. I never got to mess with that one, maybe now I will. It has the standard serial, ppt and (surprise) a ps/2 connector. Monochrome green. Too cool.

Yep, I was proud as peach when I managed to diagnose and fix a Lear 3A that my boss had given to me. I looked at what characters were messed up and figured out that "bit 6" had died. I got in there with my small diagonal cutters, chopped off all the leads on the soldered in chip. Unsoldered each one using my solder sucker. And, finally soldered in a new ram chip. Worked great. I eventually gave it away with my Vector Graphic/1 to a friend.
