I would like to add some sort of DECtape or LINCtape drive to my collection. I think there’s little chance of me finding one that is both available and affordable, but a guy’s gotta dream. I’ve never used, seen in person, or touched one before, but I’ve at least finally gotten my greedy fingers on a few DECtapes from eBay recently.
So, does anybody have one too many? Even a naked tape transport with heads and spindles still intact? As long as I’m dreaming, how about one that’s part of your extra PDP-12 that your spouse wants you to get out of the living room? I’d love to add a working DECtape system to my PDP-8/M project, but I’d settle for a restorable transport that I could resurrect with my own electronics.
I’m in southern California, living near RIverside and working in Orange County.
