I'd like to be able to MSCP boot with my 11/23+, so I'm looking for images (or ROMS, ROMS would be lovely)
(KDF11-BF)
23-183E4-00
23-184E4-00
OR
(KDF11-BG)
23-380E4-00
23-381E4-00

My 11/73 board seems to be out of commission with a SLU error, so working with what I have...

The firmware in an 11/23+ (M8189 quad width board) should have MSCP boot capability. If you have an
11/23 (M8186 Dual width board) and a board that can hold EPROMs like a BDV11 (M8012) then it is possible
to load the 11/23+ firmware onto eight 2716 EPROMs and run the 11/23 with 11/23+ firmware.

This is described at:
and

The second reference has the Boot code from:

KDF11-BJ ROMs (23-453E4 & 23-454E4)

available to download. I did this for my MINC-23 some years ago to boot an Emulex UC07 with SCSI2SD drives.
That MINC is now boots MSCP drives on a QBone using the same BDV11-11/23+ EPROMs.

You must have newer M8189s than I do, or at least more recently upgraded ones.
The 11/23+ predates the RQDX controller family. It gets primitive (RQDX1/RD51) support in version 8 firmware, but you need 9.4 firmware to run a RQDX2 and 9.4E or 10 to run a RQDX3.
Happily, one of the links you put up then has a link to Pete Turnbull's site, which had a plethora of ROM images, including the very ones I was looking for.
Excellent and thanks!

Per dec Micro-note 43
" For example if your current system is a MicroPDP-11/23 with version 8.0 firmware on both the CPU and the controller, your system will successfully boot an RD51 as a fixed device in the system. If you wish to upgrade your system to allow for the usage of a larger fixed disk (RD52), you will need to upgrade the ROMs on the RQDX1 from version 8.0 to version 9.0 (see RQDX1 HISTORY for actual part numbers). However due to some timing considerations the ROMs on the CPU card should also be changed to version 9.0 (this will change the CPU from a KDF11-BE to a KDF11-BF). "
