Making RT-11 Boot Tapes?

Hello,

I'm trying to create a TS-11 bootable distribution of the RT-11 v5.3 rl02 disk image. I've tried various things using the SIMH and E11 simulators, with no luck. I'm able to create RX02 bootable disk images no problem.

I tried the MTB.COM script, which created two tapes, but I've only been able to boot them as TK-50 tapes under SIMH. Even then, I do a 'boot tq' and get the following:

MSBOOT V05.04
*

When I enter a filename, like MDUP.MT, I get a Halt at PC: 057330.

I believe that I would need MDUP.MU to boot the TK50, so that may explain the halt above, but I can't seem to get anything if I mount this tape image as a TS-11 tape and attempt to boot. It simply hangs.

I'd also like to be able to create a TU-58 tape image, but I've had no luck with this also.

Thanks for any help.
