Hi All;
I hope that Everyone has a Very Merry Christmas and May all Your Dreams come true.. I hope Everyone has something DEC related under their tree.. And for some of You that Could be a Big Tree.. Especially if it is UniBus related.. You QBus people would need a smaller tree..
THANK YOU Marty

We have some friends coming over. No kids around any more, so to me it's just a matter of marking the occasion. I'll be going out in a few minutes to bag myself a tree. I saw some nice little ones down the old railway line. Then I'll be DECorating it for tonight. Candles and Victorian paper hearts.

Merry Midwinter to all!

Santa left me a present at a nearby truck depot yesterday.

I couldn't wait until tomorrow to unwrap it, though.

Merry Christmas and Happy Festivus!

Happy Christmas from a wet and windy Scotland, recovering from too much turkey. I have literary DECorated my tree with the help of the Lab8, will post vid when I find the camera.
NF6X, you must have been a VERY good boy this year.
All the very best to all on the forum

And a Happy Christmas to all from Toronto; if you celebrate some other holiday or even none at all, best wishes for a happy week anyway!

And count your blessings; many thousands of folks here are still without power or heat in -10C weather since Sunday, and probably will be for up to another week or more. Small change compared to some of the other catastrophes around the world, but still a hell of a way to spend Christmas...

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all. On the way home from church services last night (11:30 PM EST Christmas eve), Walled Lake had about 8° F, and about another inch of snow, to add to the ice already hanging on the trees and power lines. Lots of folks nearby without power on this Christmas day.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all, May the DEC Gods bless all of us in this New Year working power supplies, functioning cards and reliable media!

All best always to all !

SE PA USA sunny, cold, not snow or rain - super day to listen to great classical holiday music & catch up on my reading !

All best for 2014 also as we continue to progress in society despite much of science & technology making it more complex !

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the UK.

I sympathise with you DaveH - I was in Scotland for a few days just before Christmas as the winds started to pick up. A bit of a rough flight back to Birmingham.

Santa didn't quite get my newly acquired 11/02 to me in time for Christmas - although the Royal Mail did send me an invoice on Christmas Eve to pay the VAT before they would give Santa the package for delivery!

I feel a trip to the Royal Mail depot coming on tomorrow...

Dave

I suspect we're headed for a VAT here in the states. Your story has me wondering what rules and terms apply to yours - and the logic behind taxing an item produced over 34 years ago? Does the VAT apply to Real Estate transactions?

Sorry for my ignorance, but I am genuinely curious.

Merry boxing day, everyone!

Dave, I've never heard of an 11/02 before - is that a typo?

Anyway, happy new year to all the old -- and new -- decheads :)

Hi Roe.

No, the 11/02 isn't a typo. I think you are much younger than me! The 11/02 is one of DEC's very early LSI-11 bus products. It is a dual-height card. The processor is made up of separate chips (i.e. not a single J-11 chip as on the later cards).

Have a look at "http://www.diane-neisius.de/pdp11/index_E.html" for a bit more information.

RSX11M+ - I will answer your question regarding VAT when the effects of the alcohol I had for lunch wears off a bit!

Dave

..and here I was going to try and post some sort of DEC the halls song. I guess Digital wasn't as on board with the corporate song book idea as IBM.
