Midwest Micro P60 laptop

OK. My name is Bill and I have a Pentium 75 Gateway 2000. Windows 3.11.

My first Pentium was a Midwest Micro P60. Anyone have one of these?

I can't believe that Pentiums are "vintage computing" but cest la vie.

Not vintage as such by all accounts but there appears to be a lot of members with working early pentium kit or at least an interest in them Who knows in 4 years time P2s will be included.

Don't have that particular laptop. Windows 3.11 flies on a Pentium, doesn't it? It runs damn well on a 486, but on a Pentium it's like it doesn't even load, heh.

Exactly. They are just now into the Classic range. Give them a few more years and they will be truly Vintage.

vintage means "of an era". A brand new computer today is "2010 vintage" just like a wine or whatever.

Pentium 1 is vintage for the early WWW Internet era, it is in my opinion pointless to try to fix "vintage" around the bracket of an ever expanding date range.

We need to all start saying "vintage computer of the xzy era"

vintage computer of the early S-100 era
vintage computer of the 80's GUI era
and so on

ah, doesn't it feel so much better? No need to argue about "what is vintage"

Judging by listings in the eBay Vintage Computing category, the popular consensus seems to be that "vintage" is 10+ years old. That seems about right, considering a decade is an eternity in computer years.

Well, I wouldn't want to call a P3 vintage (yet!), but imo vintage, or classic, computers are anything that predates the ATX standard. Just my opinion

And btw, I'm glad they made a new Pentium section here!
We all know, in 20 years time anything that doesn't have 2 cores or more will be considered ''classic'' at the least, it's how the computer moves through time and evolves.

My head was probably in the dark with a lot of manufacturers from that era so I've never heard of them. Have you searched online auctions or archives of sites much for them? Just kinda curious myself. Are you looking for one or just asking who else had one? (I did a few quick searches for that model for sale but nothing obvious came up).
