Title pretty much says it all. Gorgeous, almost unused libretto 50ct with factory image on hard drive. Works like a champ but the screen is quite dim.

I assume the CCFL bulb is going out, are there any options for repair or a part number for replacement?

You will need to remove the orginal bulb to find out the length, those shorter ones should be found in older portable dvd players, or led style in say an original eee-pc display might work if you can find a 12v rail in the display housing.

Keep in mind if you use led, you will loose any brightness adjustment, and man are they brighter. Not enough to give you headaches or anything, just closer to the brightness of a modern display. I modded my Psone display with led, and very happy with how it came out.

Interesting, thanks. I might look into an LED option, sounds like it'd be a good choice to be honest...

Most inverters on 286 up displays are powered by 12v , so it should be an easy mod. Just wear gloves taking the display apart and dont remove the polarizing filters, keep em together.

Did you happen to find an LED version that works or a replacement bulb option? Have the same issue with mine where the screen seems to work fine but is dim.

No, I put it on my shelf and went on to other projects. I keep an eye out at goodwill for a portable DVD player every now and then but nothing seemed like a good match so far.
