I got this in a lot of other computer cassettes. Does anyone know what it's for? I suspect it's for an S-100 or other early system.

I did make a WAV of the contents if anyone wants that, or I'm happy to pass along the cassette for cash or trade.

Cool find. I'd like to hear a wav if you can post.

From: https://www.artisantg.com/info/IMSAI_PCS_80_30_Manual_202227121314.pdf

IMSA I supplies an M10 TEST T APE with each M10 board. The test tape contains
approximately ten minutes of a pre-recorded sync stream, one minute of header (which
has a spacing function and can be identified by its high"ilitched tone) and the test
programs listed in Appendices Band C of the IMSAI MIO User's Manual (for use with
front panels containing a switch bank). Side Two of the test tape is blank.

The MIO was often sold in kit form. The test tape contains programs to help test and diagnose the functions of the serial, parallel, and cassette interfaces after a build. In addition there is the sync stream to help set optimum volume and tone levels on a cassette player. This sync stream us used in conjunction with one of the test programs.

You can make your own test tape. It is recorded in Tarbell format at 800 bits per second. The sync stream is a 3 minute recording 0xE6. Next, there is a 30 second recording of 0x00. At the 3 minute 30 mark you record the MIO test programs using the sources listed in the MIO manual Appendix B.
