So...a friend and I were doing diagnostics work on my bad Expansion Interface board. Part way through, we discovered that my power supplies have both crapped out. At the same time. sigh Today I had them plugged in and in use for longer than I've run them to date, and I suspect the heat from being on that long just finally killed them due to age.
From what I've read, the most common issue is the fuse. I have no problem cutting them up, but before I go to that effort I'm wondering if I'm not better off just building a replacement supply and leaving this as-is? I've found this page on Ira's site which explains how to build a 240V power supply, and looks to also have the particulars for a US 120V version as well.
I'm assuming just building a new supply is the better long-term solution?
Edit: I went ahead and popped one of them open, and sure enough, the fuse is bad.
