Hi - I have an Apple ][e enhanced with (among others) a 64k expansion + RGB combo card. My RGB monitor is on it's last leg and I wanted to know if there was some way to hook a mac RGB monitor to it, or better a modern VGA, every one I try won't work.

Thanks,

Wmmullaney

Check out this website, I'm pretty sure this is what you're looking for:

He's eventually supposed to hook up with Henry Corbis of Reactive Micro to distribute the card.

Apple II Forever!

Dean, thanks but I don't have $200 to spend on a video card, I cold just buy another apple II monitor for that much. So the sync is totally different on the Mac RGB?

Yeah it is. Even the Apple IIGS can't use a Mac monitor. It seems that when Apple decided to toss out the II line for the Mac they figured there was no reason to make it possible for the II to use just about anything from the Mac. The only thing I know of that you can use is a Mac ADB keyboard will work on a GS.

It's in the tech ref manuals...

It's in the tech ref manuals...

Been a few years now, but I had to do this very thing a while back.

The pinouts and signals for the ][ series are documented in the Apple ][ Technical Reference Manual, and the Mac ones are in the later Mac Tech Ref Manual.

The standard VGA and SVGA are documented in various PC manuals.

If you can lay your hands on the AII Techref, you should be able to find the VGA reqs on the web.

Do you have the manual/schematics and signal/pinouts for your VGA Card?

I'm waiting for Henry Corbis to get that VGA Card working properly, would be neat to see Apple II on a modern LCD Monitor.
We can hope it works out as planned..
