Hello everyone,

I want tu use an USB controller in my old P75 using win98 SE.
Therefore I have a freecom 17156 USB-2 controller. It has the NEC d720100agm chip.
Does anyone know if there are win98 drivers for it? Or do I have to look for an USB 1 controller?

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Roland

An NEC (now Renesas Electronics) USB 2 controller is a combination of at least one USB 1 OHCI host controller function and a USB 2 EHCI host controller function.

The standard Windows 98SE OHCI host controller driver should load and work for the OHCI function(s).

Without a driver loaded and started for the EHCI host controller function the controller ports should be logically routed to the OHCI controller function(s) as if the USB 2 controller did not exist. So devices should just work but only at USB 1 speed.

You might be able to find a 3rd party USB 2 host controller driver for Windows 98SE. I don't have any knowledge about that.
