Hi all,
I am running in a unfortunates situation concerning my RL02-simulator project.
My RLV-12 Q-Bus controller board is more and more temporary dead , meens not
accessable via console mode.... increasing tendensy ! Replacing the DC0ß05 chips did
not solve this problem. My project is now at risk ( details on www.pdp11gy.com ).

Doas anyone know a people who has a spare ( left over ) RLV-11 or RLV-12
controller board's ( RLV-11 contains of 2 boards ). Additional problem is, I am
living in Germany.

Every Info and/or indications is welcome

Regards, Reinhard

Hi Reinhard

I've skimmed through you website (nice to see Fafner put to good use :) ), it is a quite impressive project you have begun and it would be nice to see you finish it. If the design is not to complicated in the end I might be able to use it myself.

I have a few spare RL controllers, I don't remember exactly what I have but I'll take a look when I get home. If I have something you can use, the shipping from sweden wont be to bad. The problem is, I have no means of testing the cards reliably as my RL01 and RL02 drives are starting to break down. If you like I can try to get the controllers working or I can send them as is.

Regards,
Pontus.

Can your backplane take an RLV-11? I have one of those (untested) here somewhere. Yours for shipping, under the proviso that you remove that blink tag from your site ;-P

Reinhard,

Your work is very impressive. I too will be interested when you get the RL02 simulator working.

Steve makes a very good point about the RLV-11. The two cards need to be in an AB/CD backplane where they are the only cards using the CD interconnect. I have an RLV-11 set where an unsuspecting user did the unspeakable. Someday I will repair that RLV-11. I have spent a few hours with the print set looking at which CD signal lines were powered when they were connected to AB power buses. There are about eight ICs that could have been hurt.

Otherwise, RLV12s are more versatile with regard to their backplane compatability. However, they are even hard to find on this side of the pond!

Hi all,
many, many thanks for the offered help! Is's very nice that I am here in this forum.
In the meantime I also have contacted the Computer-Museum in Munich. It does not look good but they will search everything again to find a RLV-11 ( M8013 & M8014 ) or a RLV-12 ( M8061 ) . In my case it makes no differrence because I use a Micro-PDP-11 with a with a none S like Q-Bus ( concerning the note from Lou ). It would be the simplest for certain if pontus could arrange it because problems with the custom would not occur . I will post a message if the try with the computer museum will fail.
Many thanks for the nice words of my homepage and my RL02-simulator. Of course I will publish all upgrade infos and you can of course recreate everything but it still can take for some time until the project is finished. Reinhard

Hi

I've checked my spares an I have one RLV-11 and two RLV-12. I though I had more, so there might be a box somewhere with flip-chips that I haven't found :)

/P
