So apparently found out the laptop itself has 4MB built-in RAM when i removed the expansion module:

This is the 4MB expansion module:

and this is where the expansion module attaches to:

Any idea what type of RAM this would be? I want to be able to expand the RAM past 8MB, at least to 12MB, if better, max out to whatever maximum ram this laptop would support if any modules of this type were made beyond 4MB.

Looks proprietary.
e.g. you'd likely need a memory expansion specifically for this model or range of laptop. 4Mb is enough for Windows 3.11 with networking - and 8Mb will get you games like Wing Commander III running - you should be ok with 8Mb - what did you plan to do with it?

It currently runs Windows 95 OSR 2.5 and 8MB simply isn't cutting it. It did use to run Windows 3.11 when it had the original 450MB HDD, but since then lost the Windows 3.x drivers for the sound (ESS Audiodrive ES488F) and video chipset (Chips & Technologies 65540 512K VGA). Somehow i can't find any drivers for DOS though for either.
