Needed: Intel Inboard 386/PC Drivers

The Intel Inboard 386/PC is a processor upgrade card for old IBM XTs; it's not by itself a 386 ... exactly. :)

I have an Intel 386 PC board... I think it's the same one.

Let me know if you find any drivers/software/docs for this board.

Can anyone confirm the 386 is plugged into the socket in the correct orientation ? before I plug this card in and test it.....

Here's a few pics:

Same card, and your CPU is oriented the same as mine, so you should be good to go. (Although I also got the 387, woo.) Heh, I was looking at it, saw the 16MHz parts, and the 32MHz Crystal ... I guess I also wonder what's the possibility of putting a faster chip in there? Or is that not functional?

My card also has the 16 Mhz with 32 Mhz crystal, which I think will be
fast enough :)

I bought this Intel card along with an Orchid PC-Turbo 186 from a local
guy who used to have a PC shop.

I have never tried the Intel card.

I have tried the Orchid card, which needs drivers, and have not got
it to work. I have drivers but they may not be the correct version for
my card.

You did get the cable with that card also ? The one that plugs into the 8088 socket.

Thanks for the response, but you got the wrong one -- those are files for an AboveBoard, we need files for an Inboard. We're looking for the very crucial "INBRDPC.SYS" among other things.

INBRDPC.SYS, ISTATPC.EXE, ICACHE.COM, ILIM386.SYS, ILIM386.COM, ISPEEDPC.EXE, CHKCOP.EXE

I have that software, too. Don't have the hardware, so that's probably I don't have it up. I'll update the website this afternoon, probably sometime after 1600 Eastern.

This looks like the right stuff! I'll try it out and let you know, but thanks for the trouble and sorry for the bother. :)

Works great, sir! Thanks a bunch.

I wonder if Above boards (ironically your prior post there mkemp) can be used in conjunction with the Inboard? Because it actually goes around and counts how many you have installed (zero in my case) and that might be a feasible way to get more RAM... I don't know anything about them, were they even in 8-bit ISA? That probably wouldn't benefit all that much, as it wouldn't be 32-bit. Too bad the upgrade on the Inboard had to be a proprietary board. This mere 1MB (which just amounts to base + 256KB extended) isn't a fantastic size for any 386... not that this will ever BE a "real" 386, but still. :)

My pleasure, I'm glad I had the software and the ability to make it available.
From my Apache access logs quite a number of you visited. Thanks.

I should be picking up one (hopefully) tomorrow. I don't think the drivers will be included. I tried the file url from this thread, but its long gone... anyone have the drivers or know where to get?
