We are considering whether it would be worthwhile getting some new ZX80 case mouldings made - would there be any interest in these (bearing in mind the number which are sold with broken corners, cracks, discoloured etc) , and if so at what sort of price?

They would have to be injection moulded to keep the price as low as possible, but it looks as though new CAD drawings would be required as no-one seems to have the originals.

I cannot see how you can recover the cost of the mould since you might only sell a few, Vacuum forming should be cheaper and may be how the original cases were made, I don't know, just guessing.

If you do get the cases made, it won't be long before someone re-produces the PCB and then the "market" would be flooded with reproductions.

OOPS - yes I meant vacuum formed, rather than injection moulding.... :)

The early cases were indeed vacuum formed, but when production was increased, they went to injection moulding.
