I acquired a Toshiba T5200 and it had a GUTS card (normally for scanners) installed and included a pen. The pen actually takes in ink cartridge but I assume it us used to capture what you write. There are also two buttons so maybe it is also a mouse? The port is not the same as a "bus mouse" unless you consider the 8-pin DIN used by the "NeXT Cube" (https://deskthority.net/wiki/Bus_mouse).

You'd think that it would capture what you're drawing with that coil wire possibly being used to determine how hard you're pressing the tip down. But how does it know the position of the pen to replicate it on the screen? Really strange device.

Did the Toshiba T5200 have any software on it for the pen? If it does, you may want to archive it and upload it to archive.org so it doesn't get lost.

Looks like the stylus for an early graphics tablet (digitizer). Unless you have the tablet base it's probably not going to work.
