Old Toshiba Windows 98 Laptop keeps making clicking noise

Hi - I've noticed that my laptop keeps making a loud clicking noise, it will click every time I go into a folder or open a file or will just click intermittently every 30 seconds or so.

I haven't used the thing in a while - but I could swear it was never as noticeable before.

Is this normal or it sign that the hard drive is about to fail?

Back up the hard disk as soon as possible. It's on its last legs...

(clicking occurs on seek errors - most likely the servo-tracking info on the platters is fading, which is irreversible)
