Hi, I installed the OS/2 Warp 4.52 in a PC retrocomputer and all is correctly working except the DOS and Windows sessions in a window. Full-screen DOS and Windows sessions works without problems, but in a window my monitor shows the message "Input not acepted". I set the monitor&graphics parameters in Vesa 20", 1024x768 and 65536 colors. Same happens with Generic 640x480 256 colors.

Also, when this happens the screen becomes black and do not respond to the "exit" or "quit" commands. Ctrl+Esc do not works and I have to reset the computer, and when the system reboots I get the message again and its complicated to recover the OS/2 desktop.

Where the problem can be?

Thank you! :)

The most likely cause is that you don't have the correct video drivers installed.

What video card do you have? Information on the underlying system might help tracking down any relevant technical notes.

Or maybe try a different monitor...

I am by coincidence setting up an OS/2 system as well, Warp 3 on a properly-supported PS/2 Model 76. And guess what happens when I set the monitor to any of the VESA ones? You guessed it, exactly the same. Probably OS/2 does stuff that modern TFT displays do not like.

Great - I only use ECS 2.1 as it works here since I bought it. So older original IBM OS/2 Versions are not in use here but I tried ARCAOS.
It's a nice part but I I stay with ECS 2.1. ECS will need a license key for installing - as ARCAOS does similar and is personalized.

In the case of an old system truly I would use the OS/2 which belong to it. My 1st OS/2 was 2.0 but I never will install it again. :)
