osborne1 system disks

(Thanks to the members of the forum for this fantastic resource)

I recently came across a osborne1 at a museum (not a computer one!), and they were using it to demonstrate what a lab in the 1970s would look like (ten internet points for those to spot an issue with this!!)

the Osborne was "working", but was asking for a boot/system disk (or similar message).

which pointed me in the direction of teledisk and a few images to go with it.

What is the hardware/OS do I need to burn the images?

I haven't used the teledisk program myself but from the looks of it, it looks like you just need a dos compatable system and a 5.25 floppy drive probably.

In fact I may need to do that soon myself since the osborne disks I bought last are completely damaged from sun or water or something odd.

Doesn't look like there's any reason for me to stick my nose, but of course, I will!

Yep, a true 360K drive and DOS will get 'er done!

I've used teledisk a fair amount and I personally think it's great for archiving disk images and then recreating diskettes from those images.

I keep a 400 MHz machine running Win 98SE with a 5.25" 360K drive. I shutdown/reboot to DOS and I'm in business.

Great way to archive any old software that will surely degrade with the passing years.
