Parallel Port Propeller (ParPortProp) Boards Available

Hi,

Parallel Port Propeller (ParPortProp) boards are now available. The price is $20 per board plus shipping - $3 in US, $6 anywhere
else. Please PM me if you're interested.

Parallel Port Propeller board was mainly designed to compliment Zeta SBC, but should work with N8VEM Z80 SBCs as well, and possibly with other computers featuring 8255 PPI based parallel port.

Parallel Port Propeller board adds the following capabilities:
- VGA output with 64 colors
- PS/2 compatible keyboard interface
- SD card interface
- RS 232 serial port (3 wires - RX, TX, and GND signals only). Serial port can be used for programming the Propeller firmware in on-board EEPROM.
- Small speaker
- Interrupt header (a provision for interrupt driven I/O)
- Port B header (can be used for GPIO).
- Prototype area
- PropPlug header (for Propeller's EEPROM programming)

Parallel Port Propeller board has exactly the same footprint as Zeta SBC, and they can be stacked one on top of the other. The parallel port connector on ParPortProp matches the location of that connector on Zeta, so it is possible to connect these boards using a pair of rectangular connectors.

Thanks to Wayne Warthen we have propeller firmware and support for Parallel Port Propeller in RomWBW2-beta. This firmware supports VGA and PS/2 based console and SD card based storage. There is also a test utility (ParPortPropTest.zip) in Parallel Port Propeller folder on N8VEM Wiki.
