PDP10 / DECsystem emulation?

I take it I will never be able to afford the XKL "TOAD" devices which put an entire PDP10 on a custom chip, so, can anyone speak to regular PDP10 emulators? What is a good OS to use on them, etc.?

It'd be TOPS-20 for me, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

SIMH has a few PDP10 sims, i can't speak to which is the best though

i personally like TOPS-20, it's a fair bit friendlier than ITS

PDP-10 running TOPS-10 is also where Paul Allen & Bill Gates wrote their first Altair BASIC. Has the intel 8080 emulator that Paul Allen wrote in PDP-10 assembly ever been found? Jim
