I guess it's worth that to a museum, but can that really be a worthwhile price to a hobbyist?

Man, it's really a downer to see paper tapes, two books, and one board out of a Core Memory set go for that. Forces you to think twice aout if you can even find a regular PDP-8 system for under $1000.

At least it won't go in the trash, and at those prices - more stuff will be "coming out of the woodwork".

yes theres piles of paper tape atm for the 8 coming out but not usefull to a 8a

someone listed a reader punch but for 1000 bucks is bit high same guy i bought the pertec rk05 rack off

Totally agree. High prices keep things preserved.

I find that to be quite high for what was listed in the auction. Someone really wanted it to pay that much.

Until the seller decides that five relists with the price dropping $50 each time isn't snagging hits and instead of doing a dime auction, he recycles it.
