Philips P3302-850 PC386 Bios setup

For decades I have this Philips P3302-850 386 PC with Co-Processor 387
Mem 18432 Total, 640k + 17408 ext + 384k extra

Holds 2 extra long special mem cards.

Thing is battery fail, so replaced the 6Vdc.Batt.
Harddisk is a Micropolis 1558 ESDI
Should be ;

size 314 MB


I managed with several types of Setup disks , Like Gsetup , but fails the Hardisk settings
and can not set mem right amound, but is works somehow a bit.

Now HD setting is
21, cyl 32, heads67, sec 48 precomp 25966,steprate 67, totalbytes 52,690,94
That as far Checkit can read the bios.

But I can now acces the Harddisk.
Its also dubblespaced.
Sadly no BIOSSETUP to be found on harddisk.

With other 386 mainboard I read that Harddisk and made a bootdisk to boot the P3302 with dblspace
and now have C-H drives and can acces the drive

Question,
What problematic it is to have the wrong BIOS harddisk nr set?

Its running Win95 version 4.00.950

Think I know the answer.
As it has an ADAPTEC ACB-2320 ESDI adapter card, it knows its own Hard disk settings.

So as long as Bios knows there is á Harddisk, it starts to find the adapter card.
Read something about even to set to 0 as long as there is an external card present.
And so it does not use its own on-board IDE-hard disk connector.

EXT Mem ,most of the BIOS setup disks of verious types only can count to 15xxxkB extended.
Found a WANG 386 setup that could fix that ext 17408kB of external MEM.
Now count is without errors.
Mem 18432 Total, 640k + 17408 ext + 384k extra

Sadly due to all setup-disks, the CPU speed is now set to 8MHz instead of 16MHz.
That with a Tulip-diagnostics disk "corrupted" that speed setting, can't get it back.

Only have to find out why drive B is not working.
It access the drive but can's read, 360k should it be.

While looking into the Philips BIOS data.
