Gamasutra has posted the second of nine bonus chapters not included in the book, Vintage Games: An Insider Look at the History of Grand Theft Auto, Super Mario, and the Most Influential Games of All Time, this time on Pinball Construction Set, entitled, "Pinball Construction Set: Launching Millions of Creative Possibilities". You can check it out here: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3923/the_history_of_the_pinball_.php

As always, you can read more about the book, which is available from retailers worldwide, here: http://www.armchairarcade.com/vintagegames

Comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for covering this. I was worried you'd miss some of the more esoteric construction set titles, but after seeing screenshots for Virtual Pinball and Bard's Tale Construction Set, my fears were put to rest. Excellent work.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that. Like I said previously and we make clear in the book's preface, it's impractical to cover every game and would be rather boring having an encyclopedia-style listing, but it's certainly important to cover as many of the highlights for a particular game type as possible in the context of the chapter. I'm sure there will be one or two key titles we'll miss among the 34 main games covered between the 25 book chapters and nine bonus Web chapters, but every effort was made to avoid that. I subscribe to the idea that if we cover at least the key games, the rest can be implied and/or categorized into the appropriate area by the reader based on the information provided.
