PM is not working

PM is not working--I can see one-line excerpt of messages in my email notifications, but nothing but blank images appear when I go to my VCF inboxl

And my Inbox and Sent boxes are missing older messages. I'm running FF 78,0ESR on Debian Buster (20.1). Adblock is installed, but disabled for the forum.
 
I think you are missing a "See more" link at the bottom of every collapsed message in you Inbox. At least, I have that "see more" link. (I could post a screenshot, but I prefer not to show my conversations.)

Try another browser, like a "pristine" (no add-ons) Chrome/Chromium, and report back.

I'm on Firefox 56, by the way.
 
Mine are message up too. Instead of the message that Chuck is getting, I get "Sorry, you are not authorized to view this page" under the message center on the left hand side.

So it seems the problem only happens with PMs created post-migration of the forum software, as all my PM are fine but they are pre-migration.

I have no relation the "The Real McCoys", or so I think, for I don't know who "The Real McCoys" are --some pop culture reference? (Ok, I'll google it now...)
 
I'm using Firefox 88, and I sent myself a message. It arrived intact. I'm not particularly thrilled with the page layout of the message, but given I rarely if ever get a PM it's not an issue.
As for a message to look like a mini-thread, this has been a thing with forum software for a few years now. You'll appreciate it eventually.
