I bought a (populated, but a bit of a basket case) 820 motherboard off everyone's favorite auction site with the intent of getting it up and running. As I am going though my list and getting parts ready to order I still have no clue what the capacity of the power supply rails need to be. I know its 12V, 5V and -12V but at what current consumption each of those rails would need to be.

I have the schematics and service manual that is floating around online, but neither one seem to mention this detail, does anyone out there happen to know, or have better documentation?

Thanks in advanced
KD

well I figured this should be a easy board to fire up since its based on a "popular" kit and it was sold as a mainboard to clear stock, that there might be some better documentation, but a few days of silence from the team that I regard as the experts has me kind of nervous lol

still if anyone has any knowledge, I'm all ears and thank you for looking... in the meantime I got a couple hp6236B power supplies that can do -12 volts at 500ma that need some attention, guess that's side project #1 :)

It's surprising how little documentation still exists for a system that was so popular in the day. I think when people moved on to the PeeCee world they binned much of it. Thankfully enough still exists to keep going. I have an 820-II for which I'm going to recreate the floppy disk controller card. Unfortunately my full size "D" schematic drawings don't include the controller and the online scanned version is barely legible. Them's the breaks. I hope you have good luck getting your 820 up and running. At least your board has the floppy controller on-board.
