Project Request: USB 5.25" Floppy

I found an interesting USB 5.25 floppy reader interface board mentioned on one of the TI Yahoo groups this morning:

Please note: it is read only, but it supports quite a few disk formats and the developers seem to be adding more regularly. The price isn't too extreme either: $55 or so.

There is/was a USB to floppy bridge chip that was used in some USB 3.5" drives that could be jumper selectable to work with a 5.25" drive. Unfortunately the chip appears to be out of production, I looked around but was unable to find it in stock anywhere. I don't know if the available drivers would work, I can handle the hardware design but I'm not much of a programmer.
