Does anyone know where I can find a floppy drive for the model 70? The one that came with my system wasn't working. I was able to purchase one from Ebay and it worked once (enough to run the configuration utility) and then failed to work after.
I ended up recapping both but, in the process of removing the circuit board from the (initially) working drive I believe I may have torn a trace on the read / write head ribbon "cable". Even after recapping the drive that originally shipped with the system it remained non-functional. Unfortunately it does not appear I can use the ribbon cable from the original drive into the new drive as that would require disassembling the drive and reassembly looks as if it would require a specific alignment / testing equipment. If anyone knows differently please let me know.
If I can source another drive I intend to recap it and, while doing so, be careful I don't damage the ribbon cable on it.
