PS/2 Model 70 Power Issue

UPDATE: The new BIOS battery arrived today and with its installation this project is pretty much completed. Unfortunately it appears the hard disk is bad as it errors out during a format. Unless anyone has any specific recommendations on properly formatting the drive (it's a 60MB drive) I think this project is done.

Check the HD controller board for leaking capacitors. I had to fix the original HD in a Model 30 286 because it kinda worked when it felt like it because of bad caps on the HD controller board. And by controller I mean the circuit board on the actual HD.

I'll give it an inspection to rule out the possibility. However it appears to be a surface error as the system recognizes the drive, I am able to use FDISK to manage partitions, and I can start the format process. It just fails about 33% into the process.
