Does anyone want or need to buy RAM Chips?

http://www.jameco.com/Jameco/catalogs/c103/P10.pdf

I will be buying some off of that catalog page, specifically #41398. The cost per chip is cheaper if we buy cooperatively.

If you are interested, let me know how many you want, and I will tally totals. As soon as we hit 100 quantity for each chip I will order them. No one has to pay until we hit quantity 100 for each chip type.

Thanks,
Dan

I've been scouring the house for older chips to replace a bad one on my new 5150 board. Iritatingly the best I could come up with was a bag of 256k chips. I'd be interested in a few 16k chips if that became part of the order. But really, looking at that catalogue, the saving in lots of a hundred are not really astounding and how many does an hobbyist need anyway?

If not, I've got a few 4116 DRAMs.

I do see your point, but shaving a few bucks off each individual order, why not? If 10 people wanted 10 chips that gets us the quantity. It was just an idea.

Indeed, it's a good idea. That's how I got the price for the LED hex displays down to a reasonable price a few months back. I used to put in orders with my boss at my previous job to get the quantity discount on PIC processors and such.
