Request: Improve new post links to long threads

After trying to give it some time (and being too busy to post much), and finally getting very tired of it, I would like to request some kind of change to the way new post links to long threads are displayed.

When a list of new/updated threads is displayed in the search, it displays a small document icon (that one can mouse over for some info), a very, very tiny blue "double down arrow" icon, and then the thread title, followed by info about the thread.

When I click on the link to the thread, it always takes me to the first post in the thread. Since threads are usually very long on this forum, this is rarely what I actually want. Once I do that, I must scroll down to the bottom to select the next page. There IS another page selector at the top of the thread, but that one is not visually obvious that there are more pages.

When I click the tiny blue "down double arrow", it does take me to the last page, but it is so small, I always miss it. It also gives me no indication of how long a thread is.

There are several possible ways to improve this:
1: Make the small blue double down arrow bigger. I personally, however, feel that this UI element is awkward regardless.

2: Make the new post link itself point to the recent or newest post in the thread. This is what some forums like vanilla do. Think about, it - the entire point of searching for new posts is usually to go TO that new post.

3: (could also be done in conjunction with 2) Display a list of pages like "[1] [2] [3] [4] [37]". This is what many other forums do. This is what the previous version did. This has the advantage of giving some visual indication of how long a thread is, and since it is text, it should adjust with the user's text size.

I'm afraid I have no idea if these are any way options in the vBulletin software. I would assume they are not.

Other suggestions are welcome.
