if you guys want to help and see if you crash it or whatever - then join myself, superdos, matthacker, and muadnem on the server and hopefully you experience no issues. :)

server: retrobox.scieron.com
port: 6667
we're generally in #wtfpwnt but you can do a /list if not

there are tons of new features and improvements compared to the last test session. it's running on something like a 300 mhz celeron, i forget the exact speed... but it blazes. everything instant on the server, not that it needs much CPU power. minimal lag on a 286. like 50 ms.

thanks

The server seems to be offline right now. :( Is it coming up any time soon?

I've tried both retrobox.scieron.com and irc.rubbermallet.org (they seem to resolve to the same IP).

Followed the last testing thread, and I'm impressed. Makes me want to fire up my P90 with freeDOS and chuck it into the server closet! :D

thanks! :)

it's up again now, running on the 286 @ 12 Mhz... should be able to get online. yeah i had it down for a while, sorry about that. had to use the box for something else temporarily.

give it a shot if you're still intersted, let me know what you think! :p

still not totally complete, but very very usable imo. it will work great on your p90, but it's much more fun on a 286 or slower. :)

oh and welcome to the VC forum!

Yeehaw! Now I am connected to the server! Had lots of problems with timeouts before, couldn't even get in to the server. Not much action in the channels, but over at your place it's around 3-5 PM if I'm not mistaken. Not good with time zones... xD

Is it still on the 286? I would like to run it on something similar, but the slowest x86 I have put together right now is the P90. :( It's no sport! :D

And thanks for the welcome! :) Keep on pushing quickbasic, you're doing a great job.

Gah, it went down. :( What's happening Mike?

Well, I should go to sleep now anyway if I want to wake up tomorrow. It's 01:17 here.. Over and out, and thanks for a good talk!
