I have both cards, both have OnBoard Bios Chips, does anyone have an idea what SCSI Hard Drives are compatible with these cards.

:D

Thanks!

I also have both of these cards. What I can tell you is that the earlier BIOS versions will only work with Seagate harddisks. Two versions of the BIOS I know for certain can work with any SCSI hard drive are 3.3.1 and 3.2.002.

The only problem is that these cards do not have ASPI drivers for them, so therefore it will not recognise CD-ROM drives. I have a DOS "redirector" that claims to support CD-ROM drives on the ST-01, but I can't get it to work in PC-DOS 2000. Perhaps it can work properly on an older version of DOS.

In theory it's possible the patch the Future Domain TMC 850M software to work with the ST-01, but I don't know of anyone who has taken the time to actually do it I'd do it myself but I don't know how to begin.

Good luck with your card, it has a reputation for being a serious pain the ass.

The Bios are:

ST01 Ver 1.7

ST02 Ver 2.0

Any way to update these bios on the card or do the chips have to be
removed and re programmed.

They're EPROMs, so they need to be removed, erased and reprogrammed. :(

Here's an image of the V 3.20 ROM for the ST01

This ROM will supposedly allow the ST01 to work with non-Seagate drives. I haven't tried it yet in my own ST01, so caveat lector.

Now, if someone only had a spare decoder PAL and boot ROM for my Trantor T130B, that would really make my day.

Nope, ST01 and ST02 are the same card. The only difference is that ST02 has a floppy controller (that cannot be disabled). Either card can have either 4k or 8k ROM.
