Is it possible to import or export CSV files to the spreadsheet app?

Are there any automated tool to convert WKS/WPS files to XLS/DOC/RTF/whatever?

A lot of spreadsheets supported the Comma Seperated Value format. Have you tried to exporting/saving it in MS Works to CSV then import the file into a newer spreadsheet and save in the format you require?

it was a common format to transfer data betwee spreadsheet way back when....For example the First Choice applications suite spreadsheet to Qutro Pro in Dos.

There were a lot of automated tools to translate to convert Works files to more modern formats. I don't know where one would find a batch program these days; they all seem to have pulled from the market. With macros, LibreOffice or WordPerfect Office could convert multiple files at a time. Both of those list WPS from Works and the WKS format that Works used was a subset of Lotus's format. For Microsoft, it would be necessary to go back many versions of Office to find one that permitted importing Works files.

I believe Works 3 could import and export CSV. That was the version with a lot of converters installed. I can't find an online reference that proves the inclusion of CSV. I guess running the software and seeing what the Open or Save As menus show would be needed.

Yep, I figured out it was under Save As, I was looking for an import/export function. All things considered Works 3 seems like a capable little office suite. I even figured out the macro functionality, so CTRL-S now saves the WPS and saves a copy as RTF in a cloud-backed drive! Imagine that, MSDOS office suite with cloud backup capability...
