I have here an SPO256AL2/P and an SPO256A-AL2. The AL2/P is branded Microchip while the A-AL2 is branded GI. I'm wondering if they're functionally the same chip. The "P" on the end is great if all it means is "Plastic", but if it means "Programmed" or something and this chip is special purpose (as opposed to the A-AL2 which is general Alphone), that'd be trouble. I couldn't find a datasheet anywhere which stated the difference.
