Spare/Replacement eMac G4 Speakers?

i've had for along while an 1.25GHz G4 eMac, i'd use it more but i dont have good speakers for it. and the built in ones have begin to degrade badly making them sound horrible.

i know its going to be a pain to replace em, but i got no idea what/where i can find replacements.

If you have the silver cone speakers like these:

I had an iMac G3 years ago that developed the same problem, the surround ring turned to goo and the cone would launch out of the housing. I ended up finding an old iPod dock at Goodwill that had a similar set of speakers. They were slightly too large, so I had to fashion my own speaker box, but they worked until the machine experienced a shipping mishap and broke apart.

If you have a 3D printer, you may be able to print a surround ring out of TPU and repair the existing speakers. If you use the spiral vase method to get a single wall thickness, it should be flexible enough to allow the speaker to move properly. Another option would be to measure the ring and see if any speaker supply carries rings of that size.

If you opt to try a different set of speakers, you'll need to get magnetically isolated speakers to avoid magnetizing the CRT. You'd end up with a distorted and/or LSD colors, which could remain permanent if the shadow mask gets magnetized.
