For a bit of fun, I put together the Commodore PET Diagnostic Clip with PCBs designed by Sven Petersen who also helped me along the way.

I managed to surprise myself and got it working first time - there's some SMD soldering which I hadn't done before so it was a bit of learning exercise for me.

I only needed small numbers (1s and 2s) of most components yet had to buy them in larger numbers so if anyone ever wants to try this and needs some of the components (resistors, capacitors, IDC connectors etc) please give me a shout and I'll send some direct.

Colin.

I like the diagnostic clip, the only thing I would do is use a proper DIL logic clip so that the CPU can remain in its socket, like the original Commodore design of this tester. But I suspect those large sized clips are getting rare and possibly expensive. But I'm very fond of them, I have ones for 16 pin DIL IC's. Once surface mount IC's came along the clips were much more problematic.
