As above. Switched off removed floppy controller. Switched on. Motherboard board OK. I'll have to inspect the damage
I just tried it but if you stick an ISA card in a slot, it aligns itself. I can imagine that if the plastic at on e of the ends is missing, things can go wrong. But with an exception, in the 38 years I'm working with ISA slots I never run into trouble due to misalignment. And the exception was caused by damaged pins that were bent sideways. If Sergey's XT floppy with Serial port wasn't seated properly would that have blown the chip?
And RIFA is a company name. For Timo: I really thought that elco was an international abbreviation. So you learn every day.
If you boot from the 720K, can you then read a 1.44m diskette put into the same drive?Im back in action with one problem even tho the xt fdc is set for 1.44 mb fdd, it wont boot from the a drive. a 720 kb works.
Really? Funny. We Dutch have the tendency to name products after the first well known brand. So a lot of people call their navigator TomTom, even if they have one of another brand. In Poland the official word for bicycle is "rover" because that is the brand they imported far before WW2.And RIFA is a company name.
