Hello long time reader, first time posting. I have a Tandy 1000SL and I have installed a Gotek. The green light stays on. Setupsl sees it as a 3 1/2 drive which is great. I’ve even reversed the cable and cut the pins that would otherwise fry the Gotek. I gathered this information from Adrian’s digital basement. The only issue I can see is the cable has a twist but the twist is past the part where I’ve plugged in! I’ve ordered a basic standard straigh thru cable to see. I’ve also tried the Gotek in another system and it works flawlessly. So are there 720k Goteks? I thought they were auto sensing. I will attach some pictures. Thank you for any advice!

So I tried a straight thru cable and the light went out but the system won’t detect it at all now. So Iam going to order a 720k Gotek.

1000sl powers the drive through the floppy cable doesn't it? A 1.44mb hotel should work fine, but you risk frying your floppy emulator if you don't cut the power lines in the floppy cable or on the hotel side...

I did cut the pins and reversed the floppy cable. The 1.44mb did not work. The light stayed which is a sign the drive wont work. SO I ordered the 720k version and in the FF.CFG there is pin34 =
I chose pin34 = chg. I found the pin34 option one that dude who makes Tandy parts on tindie. If he didnt mention the pin32 = chg option. Yes the 1000sl does provide power through the cable. Then I installed the oled panel to better know which floppy image I am using. next is the speaker and rotary dial. This issue has been resolved. You may close it now. Thank you
