Hello Everyone,

My name is Kevin Williams with TexElec.com. We are happy to introduce our newest card, the Resound OPL3 4 Channel card! Our board uses a Yamaha YMF262 (OPL3) chip and a little known feature to support 4 Channel output. While there are no games that support the extra two channels, we're hopeful that this card may allow new developers to take advantage of the surround capabilities. We did write a short demo app to test all 4 channels, which is available on our site.

Here is a photo of the card:

There is a lot more to say about the design, as well as a demo which we put in a YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/ImevKs--BFs

We also did a write-up of the features on our site as well: https://texelec.com/product/resound-opl3-4-channel-opl3-sound-card-8-bit-isa/

We have been selling vintage machines & accessories for many years now and six months ago, we created our own site https://TexElec.com. Some of you may know that we licensed some of James Pearce's products such as the Lo-Tech Compact Flash adaptor, the 1MB RAM board, the 2MB EMS board, The MIF IPC Clone as well as the ROM board. We have also created two boards of our own, the TI-99/4a -> Atari 2600 joystick adaptor and the 8-bit ISA I/O prototype card.

Thanks so much for the support we have received already. We hope to bring even more products out in the next few months, so please be sure to check back!

Have a great day everyone!

Impressive work!

Judging from the reviews on YouTube and such, this is quite a high-quality piece of kit. :)

And I see you even published the design schematics for this card for everyone to use. Sweet! :D Thank you for sharing your hard work with the world.

However, may I ask under what license you are releasing the schematics and source code? Thank you for clarifying.

I join the question. I have developed a board based on the Resound OPL3 scheme, with only 2 channels and for internal use vía HD Audio cable, but have removed it my GitHub repository until this point is clear.
