Well today I stumbled upon the biggest quantity of computer related stuff I've ever seen.:wow:

Among a lot of monitors, pentiums, keyboards and such, there was a commodore pc and an IBM (have no idea how old it is) and some other computers that I couldn't identify.

I've found a load of magazines - personal computer, computer world, popular science (from the 60's), amstrad, z80 magazines, etc, all from the 70's/80's

Lots of books ranging from linux, to coding in various languages, dos, windows, all of these from the seventies till the 80's.

A lot and when I say it it is really a lot of boxed apps and programs - music composition, image editing, office software, various os's, I don't even know where to start, all piled up at a corner.

Various versions of DOS, Windows and others in the original boxes in a great condition, with everything that came with it originally.

And finally a lot of manuals for various computers.

This was all in the home of a person and so I have no photos, I'm surprised because I was already thinking that I would find anything where I live.

Oh and another thing, everything is from the US, because it seems that a wealthy computer hobbyist during the 70's and 80's bought and imported a lot of stuff then died and there was noone to receive this stuff, so the person I met took some of the stuff (because a lot was still thrown away).

I couldn't take anything because I hadn't got a way to transport it, but the person already has my contact, and so I'll hope he doesn't throw anything away.

Pretty neat to find things like that :) Well.. I mean the equipment not the bad news portion of it. But yeah, you should see if they're happy with you keeping it in use and/or other collectors hands to continue the appreciation of the equipment/knowledge. If not then maybe point then this way anyway if they want to distribute things that you aren't interested in. I do that for folks when I find them in different areas or without much interest as well. Especially if I already have the equipment I'd rather see it end up somewhere good so I usually offer this site/network to them or in a worst case scenario (which honestly I rarely ever have) I take it off their hands to redistribute to other collectors.

I forgot to say that this person isn't interested in computers, he just has this stuff because he thought it would be a shame to throw away, as everything is in such a good condition.

And he also said that he would do a cleanup soon and would contact me then.
